Bond and the Beanie

Bond and the Beanie

Our beanie collection are the very summit of alpine style, inspired by the effortlessly stylish Golden Era of Bond, James Bond.

If one is looking for style inspiration, one of the most distinctly timeless is that of Mr Bond. In On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, Bond played by George Lazenby sports a blue ski suit accompanied by a navy blue beanie. The monochrome outfit has been used as inspiration for suits on the slopes ever since. Sir Hardy Amie of skiing in ABCs of Men’s Fashion in 1964 even said “I am sure that this sport owes something of its popularity to the attractiveness of the costume.” We would add that even the beanie has been affected by this iconic scene, a shift from the patterns to a sleek monochrome style.

This is then emulated in Roger Moore’s white ski gear in The Spy Who Loved Me, with his yellow and cherry red ensemble.
